Singai Namakkal Sangam is a thriving community dedicated to celebrating the rich Kongu heritage and fostering progress in the vibrant tapestry of Singapore. Our vision is to create a dynamic space that not only honors our roots but also propels us forward as a united and progressive community.

At Singai Namakkal Sangam, we are more than an organization; we are a family bonded by our shared cultural heritage. Our mission is to bridge the gap between generations, uniting them in a common thread of traditions, values, and aspirations.

That family has a long history in Singapore.

A shared journey

Where we come from

Three names, one community, and 78 years of it.

  1. 6 October 1948

    Where it began

    Founded on 6 October 1948 as the Namakkal Taluk Welfare Association, by families who had made their way from the Kongu region to Singapore.

  2. 1991

    A shorter name

    The association became the Namakkal Association.

  3. 3 March 2023

    75 years together

    The Sangam celebrated its diamond jubilee, and on 3 March took the name Singai Namakkal Sangam. Singai for Singapore, our home; Sangam for a Tamil identity. A new logo, vision, mission, motto and values came with it.

  4. July 2024

    A new chapter in leadership

    Mr. P. Rajamogan took on the presidency of the newly elected committee.
