President’s message

Welcome to the website of Singai Namakkal Sangam!

Singai Namakkal Sangam has successfully sailed past 75 years milestone with our diamond jubilee celebrations in 2023. The Association since its inception on 6th October 1948, has evolved to what it is today having gone through change in its name twice, and as part of its envisioning recalibrated its vision, mission, motto and value statements and embraced a new logo in 2023.

Sangam stands true to its core objectives of serving the social well-being of its members and at the same time fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of our history, heritage and culture through a repertoire of activities and programmers. Sangam has gone beyond its members, to serve the larger Tamil community in its efforts to support the promotion of Tamil Language and culture.

Taking on the leadership of the newly elected committee in July 2024 as President, it is my sincere hope to gather the young and old with their families to be engaged in meaningful activities through various platforms. We have conducted a needs survey among our members and their families and based on their needs and interests, the Association strives to organize relevant programmers for them.

Sangam has recorded its history and heritage through a two-part documentary series to reconnect with the past and aim to raise the profile of Sangam cultivating a sense of identity and camaraderie among its members.

Moving forward, we are in the process of bringing in many youths into our Sangam as part of our trajectory for leadership renewal. We have plans to network with Kongu Welfare Association of Malaysia for greater ties and collaborative efforts. As a community, we hope to give back to society together.
