There is no better joy than to organise activities for our senior citizens.  The joy that can be seen on their faces is worth a million dollars.  They came to the Botanic Gardens alone, some came with their helpers and there were 3 of them who managed to be there despite being in a wheelchair, they enjoyed meeting some of their old friends and shared the  memories

During the CNY holiday, 12 of February morning, we had our Get-Together session for the seniors and the elderlies.  We gave a little time for them to mix around as a kind of warming up followed by an indoor game whereby they were seated.  Passing the ball game with forfeits made them loosen up and relaxed.  Many were game enough to participate in the forfeits read to them.

We also had an outdoor game which was a tele match.  Most of them participated eagerly and enthusiastically.  It was a pity that time flew so fast that we could not accommodate a walk for them since they were already in the park.  The Get-Together session ended with a packet of lunch which was south Indian food.   Many of their grown up children came to the venue to pick them up back home.  They of course, requested for more such activities before they left the venue.  It definitely was fulfilling for all the members present from the main committee to hear such feedback from the participants. … Sarojah,President,Namakkal Sangam
