Tea Session for our Pioneer Members
The new Management Committee that took over office end June 2022, planned a list of activities for its members. One of it was the Tea Session for its pioneer generation. The objective of this activity was to show appreciation to the seniors, both males and females for their contributions during the early years when our fathers and forefathers arrived here from Namakkal, seeking their fortune.
During the early years, conditions were hard. Our pioneers did not have jobs that paid them handsomely and yet they were frugal enough to educate their children and even purchase their own apartments later . Many of the female spouses during those years, were mainly housewives. Their sacrifices, hard work and dedication saw to their children performing well in education and moving up the social and financial ladder.
On February 11 2023, the Tea session was held at the Sri Ruthrakaliamman temple, Depot Road. This was to enable our pioneers to visit the temple, offer their prayers and to mingle with their contemporaries. The objective here was to give them the opportunity to interact with one another without any distractions and thence to a tea reception.
Total of 10 pioneer members and 10 of our management committee members participated in the tea session.
Our seniors were overly delighted to be given the importance and the chance to meet their friends and the committee members.
They had a memorable experience and wished to have more in future.
After the 75th anniversary celebration, we are looking to have more tea sessions for our pioneers starting from the 4th quarter of the year.
